Fwd: Grama Sabha at Diawarpur

Dear Brothers an Sisters,sairam

You will recall that we have scheduled our GRAMASABHA visits to our 11 SSSVIP locations on the 13/14th of December 2008 meetings at Sivam.

The first such visit was undertaken on Saturday the 20th of December 2008 to Dilawarpur of Aleru mandal in Nalgonda district.

Sri Bhaskar rao,Sri Ravindra,Dr.Krishnakumar and myself left Hyderabad around 4 pm picking a lot of equipment from the city.

We were at Dilawarpur by 6.30 pm and as expected and planned our Sai Bothers,Sri Dayanand (Jr),Sri TV.Krishna Rao,Sri Ramulu and other Mallapur Samithi brothers were already there with all the arrangements in place waiting for us.

The village folk were seen joining one by one-although not many to begin with- we had about 120 people by the end.As usual we had more of women than men traditionally.

The programme commenced with Omkaram and lighting the Agarbattis at the alter by the Sarpanch Sri Sathyanarayana garu.

After welcome speeches by SriDayanand garu,the DP addressed the gathering highlighting the purpose of this meet.He explained that what ever done so far will have to be different from what has been done.He said the village should now elect representatives that can hereafter handle tasks related to development of the village.Every member of the village must be part of the progress and development of his village and should not expect some one to come to their rescue all the time.

In order to to achieve this goal they must among them should come forward, elect suitable volunteers to take responsibilities.

At this time the sarpanch and the upa sarpanch also spoke to the villagers stressing the need for development and support.They also highlighted the services of the SSSO so long and applauded the support and Grace of our dear Swami on their chosen village.

They were very happy to have the safe drinking water plant in their village and profusely thanked Bhagawan for HIS grace.Smt Megahamala the lady member said that all their back pains and joint pains have disappeared and they are healthy now like never before.

They recalled with love the Mother and child care services and the namakarna festival held in Sivam in 2007.

Then we screened a film show on all the activities that took place in their village from the inception of this programme.

The SSS VIP Members in Sri Y.Srinivas,Sri Gollapudi,Sri Pallamraju and Sri Kota Sivakumar joined our team at this time and mingled with the village folk.

Sri Pallaraju enthralled the audience with his mimicry items.His sound imitation of dogs,cats and the sound effects of trains was very much liked and applauded by the children and the women folk.The highlight was the voice imitation of the Political leaders and the scene enacted in Prahalada picture where Narasimhathavar's act of killing Hiranyakasipa was a kind of live presentation indeed.The audience were spell bound.

This is the point where the real business session commenced.

Sri Dayanad now invited from the audience nominations from Men and women folk.Initially there was silence but the motivation talk provided by Sri Srinivas,Kota Sivakumar made the right moves and there was quite a number that came forward with their names.

As a final act the nominated members were again gathered and addressed by Sri Bhaskar

rao,Sri Srinivas,Sri Krishnarao and Sri Ramulu,briefing the purpose and future plans.They have been assured that the nominated members will have the support of the SSSO teams all the time and they do not have to allocate any special time or feel the burden of duties.They have been told that it is merely felicitating and helping the progress and development of the village.

We told them that we will very soon meet them and work out the details further.

We also recognised it it hard job to make the folks learn and make them believe in these kind of approaches.

It was nearly 9.45 pm when we concluded-At the end we felt it to be a satisfying Gramasabha to be further taken forward.

It was nearly 12 midnight when we could reach home,safe and sound by HIS grace.

All the way in our return we were thinking how nicely the Mallapur Samithi members have organised this programme and addressed the issues so well.

We were praying to Bhagawan for smooth sailing of the event and indeed it was like that

The next Gramasabha is going to be Veerareddipalli on the 25th of December 2008 and we look forward to telling you the events as they happen.
