Dear Brothers and sisters,sairam and good day
How are you all doing after a hectic activity of the week end?
It has been a very rewarding and fruitful December for all of us.
1. we are motivating and gathering members for the January 2009 services in Prasanthinilayam
2. We had a very exciting meeting and address of Brother Jagadesan from Malaysia on the 12th of December 2008 at Sivam.We had an overwhelming responses from the audience to say- how they have been motivated and excited by his presentation.We are thankful and grateful to Swami for Jaga's presence and coming to Hyderabad.Thank you too for being with us!
3. We had a wonderful session with our visiting guests from the SSS VIP villages on the 13th of December at Sivam from 9.30 am to 4 pm-We had 125 men and women-They have pledged their support- seems to have realized the need to work together for the development of their villages-They are ready to form their own champion teams with designated tasks.
The village heads spoke highly on the benefits they have derived from the participating services of the SSS VIP.They wanted our continued support and interest in their development.-They had a long wish lists also!
We impressed on them to create teams in villages that take up challeges in the development.
Then there was Mr SRL.Sastry-Admin head from the Khadi Gramodyog Maha Vidyalaya who with his team demonstrated the opportunities that are available in making paper products,candles and Agarbattis.He also made the village folk prepare some of the items on the spot-He has given a list of opportunities and financial packages available.This has created tremendous interest in them.Dear Folks-by the end of March we must see that every SSS VIP should have one of these!
Then there was a talk on nutrition as applied to villages by Dr.Yashodadevi.
Then we had a talk by Smt L.Umadevi Professor from home science college.
The motivation talks were oriented towards village women folk on health,hygiene and nutritional aspects.The Q&A was lively too!
The village surpanches have provided a time table for us to hold gramasabhas in their villages so as to elect champion teams.These teams will hereafter take a lead in the development of their villages by working with us.We will be utilizing this opportunity to put forth our approach and expectation hence forth.These programmes will be at 7 pm in the villages as most of the folks come back from work at that time.
On the 14th of December 2008,the Sunday--
4. We had another session with all the 11 SSVIP team leaders,active men and mahiladal members who have been participating in these tasks so long-It was a strength of 350 people this morning.It was again from 9.30 am to 4 pm at Sivam.
In the morning session, Dr.Skandkumar,a very renowned and highly qualified Otho surgeon and Alumni of SSSIH-Prasanthinilayam explained through a power point, various aspects related to Health hygiene and on nutrition that is best suited to the village folk.They are even to every one in general.He also answered a number of questions related to this subject and knee joint problems.
We had Sri Raghunadha Babu,Joint Director form the National academy of construction and Sri Murthy form Nalgonda unit and Sri MT.Naidu from the Government of India MEMS to explain various employment and training opportunities they have for the benefit of the village folk-There seems to be umpteen opportunities free of cost for mere asking!-Thanks and sairam to our Sri Bogeswarudu garu our council member for his initiative and support.
Smt Neeraja In charge of Balavikas service of the SSSVIP and Smt Sarojini explained and narrated the Village Balavikas aspects and their experiances.They have provided how they can impart value education with simple stories and value oriented lessons induced in every class with out going in to any religious aspects.They demonstrated various approaches to work on personal relationship and contact with children.
In the afternoon we had a lively session by Dr.Swarajjaya Lakshmi retd professor in Gynecology and obstetrics on mother and child care.
Then we had Smt Vasudha our member from Kalyanagar providing a power point on the activity at Nagasanipalli with reference to health and hygiene and the work being carried out on mother and child care by her team members.It was very encouraging and productive indeed.
The final act was to evaluate our staus of achievemnet in the SSS VIP.This was handled by Sri Saigollapudi,Sri YC.Srinivas and Sri Balachandra.
This is a power point demonstration created with innovation to motivate and find out the facts and figures to demonstrate the status of the SSSVIP.
Members were asked to answer some questions on the participation levels,satisfaction levels attendance and interest levels from 0 to 10 scale.This was to judge the success rate evaluation on the spot for a mere indicative interest levels.
On the average it seems to be around 60% at this time.
Sri Y.Srinivas and Sai Gollapudi have made an attempt and provided a direction as to what could be our next goal and the direction we need to draw for further progress.
In this attempt it was roughly calculated to show that we have spent about Rs 18 lakhs so far in terms of transport,medical supplies,food and goodies given with a number of people going to the villages.( Whether required or not)
On the contrary what is it that we can show tangibly the effect of this Divine resource spending? They want us to think about wheteher or not we have effectively used our resources for the benefit of the needy in this process?If not the inference could be-the whole programme is not well understood or well directed towards the goal? The purpose is to show that we need to achieve more than what we have-That is the goal!
At this time we need to re-think-re plan and see that we effectively deliver what is supposed to be- and that is the theme.
For this the men,materials and finances have to be effectively used with an appropriate plan of action.This does not mean that we have not done this at all!-But we need to do better-best in fact.
There has been a suggestion that instead of each samithi fixing a date of visit-hereafter the assigned samithis should form a combined action team members drawn from the alloted samithis.This is to facilitate co- mingling of members for better understanding-coordination-resource management.This also improves the recognition of our members by name and face by the village folk.
It is felt and experianced that so far different teams going at different periods of time has not provided the much needed personal relationship between us and the village folks.Here after we need to strive for continued visits with the same teams at the same period for better relation ship and progress.
The District president has declared that we need to constantly review our plans so as to achieve the best and what is good for the service of the people.We should never loose heart or get frustrated.He also approves the new approach immediately and begin working on these lines.
I reckon that your thoughts both productive and otherwise have defintly contributed towards the sucess of this programme and many others-Sairam and thanks!
This plan only provides better integration and coordination and so why not?
The DP expressed his happiness over the united efforts of men,mahilas and specially the youth members that have participated like never before in our Hyderabad services.
This programme was initiated and programmed by the SSSVIP Incharge Dr.Krishnakumar with his sincere efforts and planning with the support of our Team leaders conveners in terms of supply of work reports,pictures and feed back.
The back up has been tremendous from and our DSC Ramanareddy,Ravi,Srinivas,Gollapudi,Balachandra,Gopikrishna and members handling the equipment and supplies.(I am sorry to learn that an equipment got burnt on a power surge-do not worry Swami will replace it!).You will not be able to guess the kind of time and space required to organise this kind of programme.
We also thank the Mahila members for their support and large number attendance.
We can not forget the support from the kitchen for the continued stream of food supplies for all those two days for any number of people.We appreciate the presence of Sri Rama Rao and Sri Jagannadh and his team members in men and mahilas teams from Prasanthi at the kitchen.
With all this we now have the task to walk this talk and we will begin this from 20th of December evening at Dilawarpur.
We need to prepare for this programme now and work together to reach the level of expectations of our beloved Swami.
We now pray to our beloved Bhagawan for his support and grace on all of us to continue these tasks in HIS mission.
